Existing-product OEM · New-product ODM · Factory-direct project coordination
CHOOSE YOUR DEVELOPMENT ROUTE
Choose the Right OEM or ODM Sunglasses Development Route
DOMI first identifies whether the project can use an existing platform or needs a newly developed product. That decision shapes the design work, tooling, sample route and quotation.

OEM ROUTE
Customize an Existing Product or Mold
Select a suitable frame platform, then define the material, color, lens, logo treatment and packaging required for your program.
- Existing frame or mold
- Color, lens and logo changes
- Custom packaging
- Sample approval before production

ODM ROUTE
Develop a New Sunglasses Product
Begin with a concept, drawing, reference sample or functional requirement, then move through design confirmation, tooling, trial samples and bulk production.
- Concept or reference input
- 2D and 3D confirmation
- New mold development
- Trial sample and production approval
OEM CUSTOMIZATION SCOPE
OEM Sunglasses Customization Options
For an OEM sunglasses program, the selected product is the starting point. Each requested change is then checked against the material, surface, manufacturing route and target market.

Frame & Material
Review the existing platform, frame construction, material, surface pattern and Pantone color direction.

Lens Options
Confirm the lens appearance and specification for the selected product and target market.

Logo & Surface Graphics
Match artwork, position and coverage with screen printing, pad printing, heat transfer, engraving or metal details.

Packaging & Accessories
Coordinate pouches, cases, paper boxes, color boxes, stickers and hang tags around the product brief.
ODM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
From Product Idea to Approved Production
A new sunglasses project moves through visible approval points. The design, mold and trial sample should be confirmed before the bulk order follows the approved reference.
01Project Input
Share the concept, reference product, sketch, sample, target market and required delivery plan.
022D Design Review
Frame proportions, materials, components, colors and required brand details are organized for review.
033D or Sample Confirmation
The agreed structure is checked through the applicable 3D design or physical reference before tooling.
04Mold Development
A new mold is prepared after the product direction and project requirements have been approved.
05Trial Sample Approval
The trial sample is reviewed for appearance, fit, agreed details and the selected production route.
06Bulk Production
Production, inspection and packing follow the approved reference and confirmed order specification.
SOURCING MODEL COMPARISON
OEM, ODM or Private Label?
The terms are often used loosely. For planning this project, use the starting point and required development work to choose the right commercial path.
| Decision factor | OEM | ODM | Private Label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Existing product, mold or confirmed specification | New concept, drawing, sample or product requirement | Existing product selected for a branded collection |
| Main changes | Material, color, lens, logo, graphics and packaging | Product structure, silhouette, components, tooling and full specification | Brand presentation, packaging and selected product details |
| Development work | Product review, artwork, sample and production setup | Design confirmation, tooling, trial sample and production setup | Product selection, branding, packaging and assortment planning |
| Best fit | Buyers with a defined product direction and a suitable existing platform | Brands that need a new or distinct sunglasses product | Buyers building a coordinated branded product range |

BUYER QUESTIONS
Before Starting an OEM or ODM Sunglasses Project
Share the product direction, quantity, target market and approval schedule so the team can review an appropriate project route.
Discuss Your ProjectWhat is the difference between OEM and ODM sunglasses?
For this page, the OEM route starts from an existing product, mold or confirmed specification and adapts the materials, colors, lenses, branding and packaging. The ODM route begins with a new product concept or reference and includes design confirmation, tooling and trial samples before bulk production.
What should I send for an OEM sunglasses quotation?
Send the preferred product or reference, quantity, target market, required delivery date, colors, lens direction, logo artwork, packaging requirements and destination. DOMI will identify which details can use an existing platform and which require further development.
Can DOMI develop a new sunglasses mold?
Yes. New-product projects can proceed through drawing or design confirmation, mold development, trial sampling and approval before bulk production. Mold cost, ownership and later-use terms are confirmed in the project quotation.
How long does a full-custom sunglasses project take?
A full-custom project is currently planned at approximately 40–60 calendar days from receipt of the 30% deposit, excluding international transit time. The final schedule depends on design approval, tooling, samples, quantity, packaging and the complexity of the product.
Can I approve a sample before mass production?
Yes. The applicable drawing, visual reference or physical sample is approved before the order proceeds into bulk production. Any required change should be recorded and confirmed before the next stage.
