Sunglasses Manufacturing Process & Quality Control
See how DOMI coordinates product selection, artwork, sampling, production, inspection and packing for B2B sunglasses projects.
The exact route depends on the product, customization scope, quantity, target market and approved delivery plan.DIRECT FACTORY WORKFLOW
Custom Sunglasses Manufacturing at DOMI
DOMI coordinates the steps that turn an approved sunglasses brief into a bulk order. Buyers can begin with available stock, adapt an existing mold or develop a new product. The route is selected before sampling so the quotation, approvals and schedule match the actual project.
Product choice, artwork, colors, lenses, logo application, packaging and destination requirements are recorded before production. This creates a clear reference for sampling, production checks and final inspection.
With more than 300 existing molds, a factory team of over 50 people and annual production capacity of more than 5 million pairs, DOMI supports custom sunglasses programs from sampling through bulk production and packing.

THREE PRODUCTION ROUTES
Start With the Route That Fits the Project
MOQ and production time depend on how much the product needs to change. The following figures are planning references; the approved quotation controls the final order.
READY STOCK
Existing Product Route
- MOQ
- From 100 pairs
- Production
- 5–10 calendar days
For available styles using a shorter logo and packing route. Stock, color and branding feasibility are confirmed before quotation.
SEMI-CUSTOM
Existing Mold Route
- MOQ
- From 300 pairs
- Production
- 20–30 calendar days
For an existing frame platform with selected colors, lenses, logo application or packaging, without developing a new mold.
FULL CUSTOM
New Product Route
- MOQ
- From 2,000 pairs
- Production
- 40–60 calendar days
For a new frame or product structure that requires design development, tooling and physical sample approval.
Production time starts after the 30% deposit is received, is counted in calendar days and excludes international transportation. Product complexity, quantity, packaging, peak season and customer approval timing may change the final schedule.
SUNGLASSES MANUFACTURING PROCESS
From Project Brief to Shipment-Ready Order
Each stage has a practical output. This keeps commercial decisions, sample approvals and production checks connected to the same project reference.
- 01Project scope and recommended route
Confirm the Project Brief
Define the product direction, quantity, destination market, target arrival date, customization and packaging requirements.
- 02Quotation, artwork and specification
Lock the Product Specification
Review the frame platform, lens direction, colors, logo artwork, placement, packaging and any new tooling requirement.
- 03Approved sample or reference
Prepare and Approve the Sample
The applicable sample route is confirmed for the selected product. Bulk production begins only after the agreed reference is approved.
- 04Confirmed production plan
Plan Bulk Production
Materials, components, logo application, finishing and packing are scheduled around the approved requirement and order quantity.
- 05Production and inspection records
Run Production Checks
Key appearance, color, logo placement, assembly and packing details are checked against the approved project reference.
- 06Shipment-ready order
Complete Final Inspection and Packing
Quantity, appearance, agreed packing and required project documents are reviewed before shipment preparation.
INSIDE PRODUCTION
Key Steps Behind the Finished Sunglasses
These production materials show the frame, finishing, assembly and inspection work behind DOMI projects. The exact in-house and coordinated production scope is confirmed for the selected product before quotation.

Injection & Frame Molding
Frame components are formed according to the selected material, mold and approved product specification.

Metal Hinge Processing
Metal hinge components are prepared and fitted for the selected frame structure and assembly route.

Polishing & Surface Preparation
Frame surfaces are refined before color, finishing and later assembly steps.

Color & Surface Finishing
Approved colors and finishes are applied according to the confirmed sample and project requirements.

Manual Assembly
Frames, temples, hinges and lenses are assembled while key fit and appearance details are checked.

Manual Quality Inspection
Appearance, component fit and agreed product details are inspected before packing and shipment.
QUALITY CONTROL
Connect Every Requirement to a Checkpoint
Quality control starts with a clear reference. The approved sample, artwork, product specification and packing requirement define what should be reviewed during production and before shipment.
Approved Reference
The approved sample, artwork and specification establish what production should match.
In-Process Checks
Agreed dimensions, surface appearance, logo placement and assembly details are reviewed during production.
Final Inspection
Quantity, appearance, packing and required project documents are checked before shipment preparation.
Market Documents
Applicable test or compliance documentation is confirmed by product and destination market.
PROJECT EVIDENCE
Ask for Evidence That Matches the Order
Certificates, test reports and inspection requirements are not universal across every product or market. DOMI reviews the selected product, destination and buyer requirement before confirming which documents apply.

Get a Project ReviewWhat is the sunglasses manufacturing process at DOMI?
A project normally moves from a confirmed brief to product specification, artwork and sample approval, production planning, bulk production checks, final inspection and packing. The exact steps depend on whether the order uses ready stock, an existing mold or new tooling.
Does every custom sunglasses order require a new mold?
No. Existing styles and existing mold platforms can support many color, lens, logo and packaging changes. A new mold is considered when the required frame shape or structure cannot be produced from an existing platform.
When does the production lead time begin?
The reference production lead time begins when the 30% deposit is received. It is counted in calendar days and does not include international transportation time. The approved quotation provides the project-specific schedule.
How are samples handled?
Stock samples are free for up to five pairs, with freight paid by the buyer. Custom-logo samples are free. General sample time is 5–10 days, and the exact route is confirmed for the selected product.
How does DOMI control quality during production?
The approved sample, artwork and specification are used as the project reference. Agreed appearance, color, logo, assembly and packing details are checked during production and again before shipment preparation.
Can a buyer arrange a third-party inspection?
Yes. A buyer-appointed third-party inspection can be coordinated when the scope, timing and acceptance requirements are included in the project plan.
